Theology for the dogs

I started this post to go through some of the catechisms that really stood out to me but I am not going there tonight.

I just got done with mopping the kitchen floor and I realized something huge. You wouldn't think that cleaning up dog hair, slobber, food and grime would be prophetic, but it was. My dumb dog Bruce (He is REALY DUMB!!) was barking annoyingly at me while mopping and it hit me. We are like Bruce to God. We bark at him when WE want something, when WE need something, when WE need attention and when WE want love. I can't tell you how annoyed I was at Bruce tonight, and it made me think about how annoying we are to God (He loves us unconditionally somehow) with all the we/me statements all the time.

I was talking with a good friend tonight and we were talking about this. God did not make us for Him to pay attention to us but for us to worship and bow down and give Him glory. God is self seeking and made us for this reason. He did not create us to give us favor and prosperity.

Lets stop barking and start obeying.
